• Parental Permission

    You must have parental permission to join the Cambs Youth Panel and we need to have a point of contact with someone who has parental responsibility for you throughout the time that you are a member.

  • Application form

    If your parents support your application, you can move onto the application stage.

    Click the link below and complete the online application. It will ask you several questions - but don’t worry! There are no ‘wrong’ answers.

  • References

    When you complete your application you need to add the details of two referees - and we will ask them about you. Usually this will be two of your teachers at school, or maybe a youth leader from another group that you’re involved in. Usually we will get back in touch with you inside 28 days.

The Cambs Youth Panel is for young people aged 12 to 18 years who live in Cambridgeshire, are educated here, or who access services in this region.

FAQs

  • We take every care to support the wellbeing of all our members. All adult volunteers are rigorously checked via DBS (Disclosure & Barring Services) at an enhanced level.

  • We do not charge membership fees or subscriptions. We feel that this would prohibit some young people from being able to take part. All our projects are funded through applications to funding partnerships and our fundraising efforts. Travel opportunities are scouted to keep ticket prices as low as possible and if necessary we seek to discreetly subsidise to ensure that young people can be involved.

  • Cambs Youth Panel is a strictly not for profit group, currently seeking registered status with the Charities Commission UK. All funds raised by the Cambs Youth Panel are reinvested in the support we provide to young people. We have no paid employees.

  • The group meets online and engages through WhatsApp and Zoom. If any young person is not equipped with an appropriate device that allows them to participate, we will do our best to supply the equipment they need to get involved.
